A sad day.

We here at Wild Shore Press have some sad news.  Brian C. Felder, the oft-published American Poet whose anthology "Plain Big Word" we only just released on Nov. 14 has passed away suddenly on December 3rd.  Mr. Felder apparently suffered a heart attack while at home and could not be revived.

Brian C. Felder

Brian was a talented poet, a scholar, and a good friend.  He is survived by his wife Marianne and his some fifty years of works.  He will be missed.  We'll be putting the Ebook of his works out for free this week in memoriam and to help make more people aware of his remarkable writings.

Plain Big Words

We here at Wild Shore are absolutely delighted to announce the release of Plain Big Words by Brian C. Felder.  Mr. Felder has the distinction of being one of the most published poets in America, with over 400 poems published in over 140 different publications. He has been a staple of the small press scene in this country for some 50 years.  Yet in all that time, despite having appeared in numerous poetry anthologies and being honered with his own archive at the University of Delaware, Felder has never published an anthology of his own works.

Until now.

Plain Big Words is a selection of 100 of the author's favorite pieces, complete with photographs of some of the places, people, and events that inspired them.  Felder's poetry is terse, muscular, and always affecting and thoughtful.  Chris Helvey, editor of  Trajectory magazine and a well known novelist and poet in his own right, said of Felder's Work:

"PLAIN BIG WORDS is, to use plain big words, the best damn poetry book I have ever read!  Honest, open, and direct, Brian's poems form a mosaic of our collective lives.  What a wonderful collection.  Do not miss this book!"

Free Books for your Quarantine Reading

Because of the current Viral mess going around the world, Don Elwell has asked us to offer some of his books as a free download this coming weekend (March 27-29).  Beginning at 8AM Pacific Daylight Time, you'll be able to download his "An Alien's Guide to Sears and Roebuck", "In the Shade", "The Ganymeade Protocol, Revised Edition" and "The Floating Empire Composting Toilet Book" from his Amazon Author pages for free.  Feel free to download any or all (but please leave a review if you liked them.  We live and die by those things on ebooks).  The link to download is HERE.

As this crisis continues, we'll be negotiating with our distributors and authors to see how many of our titles we can make available for free or at a substantial discount.  Stir crazy is not pretty, but a good novel or how-to can sure help pass the time.

Some Really Cool News

Just had a note from Feedspot.com and the blog on which our Shantyboat book is based is going to be featured in their listing of the top 60 Tiny House Blogs, Websites, and Influencers for 2020.

I think this was partly because of the new book on barrel shantyboats.
This thing seems to have caught people's interest.  If you want an electronic copy you can find them here.
Anyway, it makes us happy, and it feels pretty good to be in the same list as important information sources like "Living big in a tiny house" and "Tiny House, Giant Journey".  Tell your friends.
